Assistant Professor

The Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS) is seeking a tenure-track computational scientist in the physical sciences to join our interdisciplinary team. IACS PRODiG+ Fellow

We seek candidates whose research advances computational methods in any area, inclusive of physical, environmental, social, or computational sciences; engineering; arts, humanities, or related fields. This candidate would be expected to work interdisciplinarily and could be based in any department affiliated with the IACS. The successful candidate would be expected to leverage Stony Brook University’s high-performance computing resources.

The SUNY PRODiG Plus Fellowship program offers a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the lecturer level to commence in Fall 2026. The Fellow will be a part of a mentored research environment and, with successful performance and demonstrated contribution to inclusion, diversity, and equity, will be invited to join the tenure-track faculty at Stony Brook University after two years.

Research Scientist, Senior Research Scientist

IACS is seeking qualified Research Scientists / Sr Research Scientists to join the new NSF Tier-1 supercomputing center. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers, faculty, and students to support research and development in computational science and computer science applications. This role includes assisting and educating users on the effective and efficient use of the supercomputing platform, supporting research workflows, and ensuring that all activities comply with the policies and procedures of the SBSC, IACS, Stony Brook University, and the National Science Foundation. This position offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of high-performance computing, supporting a diverse research community and contributing to the development of next-generation computational science capabilities.
